The Bachelor of Education in History Degree program at Catholic University of Eastern Africa is designed to train teachers for secondary schools and colleges with a view of forming a young generation that has holistic views of the human person.

Objectives of Bachelor of Education in History

The Bachelor of Education in History at Catholic University of Eastern Africa aims to:

Develop in students a strong understanding and appreciation of the past and link this to contemporary society.

Entry requirements for Bachelor of Education in History

Minimum of C in history and in KCSE. Diploma in Education with credit in history
A minimum of C+ mean grade in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, with a C plain in history.
Or
A Principal pass in the A-Levels in the Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education or GCE A-Level or the equivalent.
Or
P1 Certificate holders with a C plain mean grade in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education or the equivalent (School Focused Only)

Bachelor of Education in History Course Subjects

Depending on the prospective student qualifications the Bacheor of Education in History at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa can be either a Four year programme, three year programme, or a two year programme.

Four Year Bacheor of Education in History Programme
In the first year, students shall take the four common courses, four in history, four in education and four courses in another arts subject.
In the second and third years, they shall take four courses in History and three in the fourth year.
Students will take four courses in education and four in another department in second, third and fourth years.

Three Year Bacheor of Education in History Programme
In the first year, students shall take three common courses, foru courses in history, five in education and four in another arts subject.
In the second year, students shall take four courses in History; in the third year, they will take five courses in education and three courses in another arts subject in second and third years.

Two Year Bacheor of Education in History Programme
In the first year, students shall take the two common courses, six courses in History, three in education and six in another arts subject.
In the second year, they shall take five courses in history, four in education and six in another subject.
