About MASTER OF SCIENCE DEGREE IN POPULATION STUDIES Masters program.

The Master of Science course in Population Studies is intended to prepare graduates of Science in Mathematics or any other sciences with strong quantitative background for careers in government service, academic and private sector, which may demand more sophisticated skills for research and teaching in population studies. Particular attention will be given to a level of competence necessary for undertaking high quality research in population studies aimed at furthering the national development goals.

Entry requirements for MASTER OF SCIENCE DEGREE IN POPULATION STUDIES

The following shall be eligible for admission to the University of Nairobi:


i) A Bachelor’s degree of the University of Nairobi with at least an upper Second Class Honors, or other candidates with equivalent qualifications recognized by senate.


ii) Lower Second Class honors degrees or equivalent and a diploma in population studies or at least 2 years work experience in population-related field.


iii) A pass degree and a post-graduate diploma in population studies with at least three years of work experience in a population related field.


iv) A pass degree with a distinction pass in post-graduate certificate in population and at least five years of work experience in population related field.
