
The Bachelor of Arts in History programe at Catholic University of Eastern Africa aims at training professional historians with a strong understanding and appreciation of both the past and the preset and who are morally upright and respectful of of other peoples cultural practices and national differences.
To be accepted for the Bachelors of Arts in History programme at CUEA, a candidate requires:
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Certificate with a minimum aggregate of C+, with a minimum of grade C in History
OR
Be a holder of Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (or equivalent education) with a minimum of two principal passes and one subsidiary pass
OR
Be a holder of a diploma or proffessional certificate in a relevant discipline from an institution recognized by the University Senate.
OR
Be a holder of any other qualification accepted by the University Senate as equivalent to any of the above.

The Bachelor of Arts in History at Catholic University of Eastern Africa aims to:
Develop in students a strong understanding and appreciation of the past, and linking this to contemporary society.
Develop in students a sense of respect for other peoples' cultural practices and their national differences.
Depending on the prospective students qualifications the Bacheor of Arts in History at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa can be either a four year programme, a three year programme or a two year programme.
Four Year Bacheor of Arts in History Programme.
In the first year students, shall take four common courses, courses in Hisotry and five from other departments in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
In the second year of study at CUEA, students shall take six courses in History and three from each of the other two from each of the other two departments
In the third and fourth years, they shall take six courses in History and five from other departments. In the final year, students will undertake a research project which is equivalent to two courses.
Three Year Bacheor of Arts in History Programme.
In the first year students shall take the three common courses, courses in History and from two other departments.
In the second year of study at CUEA, students shall take six courses in History and six from other departments.
In the third year of study at CUEA, students will take six courses in History and six in other departments as well as a research project which is equivalent to two courses.
