Programme Details:
The Bachelor of Education in English at Catholic University of Eastern Africa is designed to train teachers for secondary schools with a view of imparting adequate knowledge on use and presentation of english such as is required for teachers of english.
Entry Requirements:
To be accepted for the Bachelors of Arts in Social Sciences (Economics) programme at CUEA, a candidate requires:
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education with the minimum mean grade of C+ (Plus) And a minimum grade of C+ (plus) in English
OR
A Principal pass in the A-Levels in the Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (A-Levels) or GCE A-Level or the equivalent Kenya Advanced Certificate of education with a minimum of 2 principal passes or the equivalent
OR
To the three year programme, applicants with either a principal pass in literature at the Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education examination or its equivalent.
OR
To the three year programme, P! teaching certificate with a maximum of 34 points and a minimum of C in English in the KCSE examination or its equivalent
OR
To the two year programme, applicants with a diploma in Education or its equivalent, with English as ateaching subject.

Course Objective
The Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences (Anthropology) at Catholic University of Eastern Africa aims to:
1. Impart adequate knowledge of language use and presentation such as is required for teachers of English at secondary school level.
2. Prepare students for graduate study.
Course Programme
Depending on the prospective students qualifications the Bacheor of Education in Englsih at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa can be either a four year programme, three year programme.
Four Year Bacheor of Education in English Programme.
In the first year students will take two common courses, three courses in english, three in literature and three in Education.
In the second year of study at CUEA, students shall take two common courses, four in English and four in literature and five courses in education.
In the third year of study at CUEA, students shall take four courses in English, four in literature and five in Education.
In the fourth year of study at CUEA, they shall take four courses in English, four in literature and five in education.
Three Year Bacheor of Education in English Programme.
In the first year of study at CUEA, students shall take one common course, three courses in English and three in literature and five in education.
In the second year of study at CUEA, students shall take two common courses, four in English, four in Literature and five in education.
In the third year of study at CUEA, students shall take four courses in English, four in literature and five in education.
Two Year Bacheor of Education in English Programme.
In the first year of study at CUEA, students shall take one common course, five courses in English, six in literature and three in education.
In the second year of study at CUEA, students shal take two common university courses, six in english, five in literature and two in education.
