About Kaimosi Friends University College

Established in 2014, Kaimosi Friends University College is a public University that makes distinctive contributions to society in education and training, research and innovation.

Kaimosi Friends University College is located in Vihiga County, Western Region of Kenya within the Kaimosi Mission Complex along the Kisumu, Chavakali, Kapsabet, Eldoret road, on a 40 acre piece of land.

As early as 1971, East African Yearly Meeting of Friends Church (Quakers), the local community and friends in the USA and UK appreciated the value of vocation oriented education with specific emphasis on Practical Agriculture, Rural Leadership, Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship Training hence the founding of Friends College Kaimosi (FCK).

The University College was gazetted as a constituent college of Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology on May 22, 2015, vide Legal notice number 87 of the Kenya Gazette Supplement number 65.

The University College endeavors to be ranked amongst the world-class universities based on academic excellence and research that impact societal needs.

Besides embracing innovation and ICT in all its programs and operations to position itself as a teaching, learning, and research and extension institution, emphasis is laid on entrepreneurial development and skills for the students to orient graduates towards job creation.

Why study at Kaimosi Friends University College

The institution is situated in the vast, lush-green and history-rich Kaimosi Complex, just 500 metres off the Chavakali Kapsabet Road, between Shamakhokho and Cheptul townships. It is equidistant from Kisumu, Kakamega and Kapsabet towns (about 35 kilometres).
Its location in a tropical rain forest provides a serene environment for teaching, learning and research.

It is the zenith of more than 10 institutions in the complex including Jumuia Hospital-Kaimosi, Friends ( Technical) College Kaimosi, Kaimosi Girls, and Boys High Schools, Kaimosi Theological College, Kaimosi TTC, Kaimosi Vocational Training Institute, a Special school, and a host of primary schools ? all sponsored by the Kaimosi Friends Church.

Dynamic Programmes and Faculty

Kaimosi Friends University College offers certificate, diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in over 15 programmes at the schools of Science, Business and Economics, Computing and Information Technology, Education and Social Sciences, and the nascent School of Nursing.

Flexible Study: In addition to the regular and evening classes conducted at the University College?s Main Campus, a robust Open Distance and e-Learning module supports distance learning.
