Weithaga Bible and Technical College has a long history spanning many years. It was for many years the training college for Anglican ministers within the Mount Kenya region, indeed many of the most eminent renowned clergy and bishops had their basic theological training at the center.
Weithaga Bible and Technical College has been in operation offering capacity-building courses for the ordained ministers and laypeople within the Diocese, until the Rt. Rev Dr. Timothy Gichere the fourth bishop of the Diocese of Mt. Kenya central strategically asked for the revival of the college to a full-fledged center for training.
In the year 2020, the college applied to the government for approvals to run as a training college offering certificates and diplomas in different fields.
Weithaga Bible and Technical College is now registered with Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) and has sought a working collaboration with St Paul?s University to strategically offer courses that will be validated by the university and other examining bodies like KNEC, NITA, KASNEB among others.
Our excitement is based on the potential that the college portrays going forward. We have invited applicants for the courses both in the faculty of Theology and business/technical. We have continuing students some of whom will be graduating this year in 2021.
Our commitment is to adequately prepare our products (students) to effectively respond to the demands of the job market through training and emphasizing more on godly values.
The Diocese through the leadership of the current Bishop, has invested heavily through upgrading the infrastructure, i.e. Expanding the College library, put up a modern comport lab among other areas. The college has a dispensary within it and is open to the students and the surrounding Weithaga community. The college covets support and prayers from all the Diocesan stakeholders. In thy light is life.
