3D Animation and Film Program Offered at Shang Tao Media College

The purpose of BTEC Higher Nationals in 3D Animation and Film is to develop students as professional, self-reflecting individuals able to meet the demands of employers in Creative Media Production and adapt to a constantly changing world.

Assessment

Assessment is a process of measuring learners’ work reliably against criteria, to produce results that are a valid interpretation of knowledge or performance. Each unit has specified learning outcomes and assessment criteria. To pass a unit, learners must meet all the learning outcomes.

A pass is awarded for the achievement of all outcomes against the specified assessment criteria. Merit   and distinction grades are awarded for higher-level achievement.

Delivery Approach

Specifications contain a balance of practical skill development and knowledge requirements, some of which can be theoretical in nature. Assessor ensure that appropriate links are made between theory and practice and that the knowledge base is applied to the sector.

Focused on getting you job-ready, the Higher National Diploma in 3D Animation and Film helps you get your skills to industry-standard. 

This Higher NAtional Diplom in 3D Animation gives learners the opportunity to: 

• Focus on the development of higher-level skills in 3D animation and Film
  
• Develop a range of skills, techniques and attributes essential for successful performance in working life 
• Gain a vocationally specific qualification to enter employment within 3D animation and Film
• Equip individuals with knowledge, understanding and skills for success in a range of positions in Creative Media Industry
• To provide opportunities for students to enter or progress in employment in Creative Media Production, or progress to higher education qualifications such as an Honours degree in Creative Media Production or a related area.
• To provide students with opportunities to engage in an industry-recognised apprenticeship scheme that aligns with their employer’s needs and their own career aspirations.
• Learn to model, light and render 3D artwork and animate 3D characters and creatures in a manner that is both believable and entertaining.
• Learn to analyse images for the visual cues that make them work and apply this to their own work. If successful students will learn to entertain, amuse and amaze their audience.
