About Culinary Arts Diploma program.

This two-year program in Culinary Arts at Boma International Hospitality college (BIHC) is designed to meet the needs of individuals eager to embark on a career within hotels and restaurants commercial operations including catering and institutional organizations.

This program is ideal for students interested in pursuing the chefs’ profession while envisaging to discover and familiarize themselves with the fundamentals of Food and Beverage management and progress, if desired, to a Bachelor in Culinary Arts level. Specifically, the program will include a thorough orientation of culinary environments for ideal space planning, the fittings, and equipment, the F&B cycle, F&B concepts for different customer segments, implying a variety of menus and specialties, best practical aspects of culinary applications and management functions.

Entry requirements for Culinary Arts

  • KCSE Mean grade C- (MINUS) with C- (MINUS) or above in English or Kiswahili and a D (PLAIN) in Mathematics
  • IB/ A – Level 4 Credits
  • IGCSE 4 'O' Passes with D and above and/or equivalent of a mean grade of C- (MINUS) with E in Math and a D English or Kiswahili
  • SATs 1060 and above out of 1600
