Overview

This Graphic Design diploma program gives a coherent introduction to the study of art and design through both theoretical learning and practical experience.

Learners develop art and design projects and gain an understanding of the creative process.

They study visual recording and communication, critical analysis and production skills to produce art and design outcomes.

Students of this Graphic Desing Diploma program learn about the latest graphic design techniques and software.

Taken on-campus at the Academy of Graphic Technology, the course utilizes both theoretical learning and practical experience to teach participants how to communicate ideas through a range of visual mediums and helps them develop key skills in audiovisual, animation, computers, photography, and other multimedia techniques.

Upon completion, participants will have an impressive portfolio that includes artwork, web-designs, and original brand concepts, which will be highly valued and recognized by employers in all industries. 

Objectives

As a graphic design diploma student at the Academy of Graphic Technologies, you will have the opportunity to work with interesting and diverse projects whilst gaining a valid understanding of the subject. You will experiment with your ideas, look at the work of other artists and designers and build a creative portfolio. You will be given the chance to develop your skills and self-confidence in a mature, friendly and safe environment. 

This Graphic Design diploma program aims to:

  • develop students' understanding and awareness of the opportunities and demands of study in art & design.

Course content

Application, Exploration, and Realisation: In this unit, learners will develop and extend their specialist subject understanding and skill, realizing their creative potential through personal research, experimentation and communication of ideas.
Graphics for 3D applications: The aim of this unit is to develop learner's skills, knowledge and understanding through investigating examples of graphics for 3D applications and learn about the factors that influence design in this field such as surface graphics, shapes, and colours.
Narrative Image Making: The aim of this unit is to develop learners skills and understanding of existing narrative image work and to enable them to build skills in creating narrative images using a variety of media
Website Design: This unit aims to give learners the opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge, and understanding needed to design effective and creative websites.
Freelance work in Art and Design: The aim of this unit is to enable learners to develop knowledge, skills, and understanding of the freelance sector in art and design. Learners will create a potential business plan and portfolio for freelance activity.
