About MASTER OF SCIENCE IN PHARMACOLOGY AND TOXICOLOGY Masters program.

The establishment of a Master of Science Degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology in the University of Nairobi is designed for veterinary and medical graduates involved in the protection and improvement of animals and human health and environment. The postgraduate programmes is intended to prepare veterinary and/ or medical graduates for research, teaching in academic institutions and other related duties in government service and private sector. Graduates will be exposed to a broad study of drugs, poisonous compound, environmental pollutants, analytical techniques, recent advances and research


in pharmacology and toxicology.

Entry requirements for MASTER OF SCIENCE IN PHARMACOLOGY AND TOXICOLOGY

Admission into the Master of Science Degrees in Pharmacology and Toxicology offered at the University of Nairobi shall be open to the following:-


i) Holders of the degree of Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine or Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery of the University of Nairobi with a minimum of credit in pharmacology or pharmacology and toxicology at undergraduate level.


ii) Holders of the degree of Bachelor of Pharmacy of the University of Nairobi with a minimum of credit in pharmacology or pharmacognosy at undergraduate level.


iii) Holders of equivalent of Bachelor’s degree from other universities recognized and approved by University of Nairobi Senate.

This will be devoted to conducting an approved research Project in the disciplines of pharmacology and/or toxicology.


Semester II


This will be devoted to completing of any laboratory research work, writing of the thesis and submission of the thesis for examination.
