About Regional Initial Forecasting Course (IFC) Postgraduate Diploma program.

Regional Initial Forecasting Course (IFC) prepares the trainee for a professional career in Operational Meteorology through simulations and on-the-job training (OJT).

At the end of the course, the trainees will be able to demonstrate the requisite competencies for operational forecasters. They will thus be able to; analyze and monitor the weather situation, forecast meteorological phenomena, warn of hazardous phenomena, ensure the quality of meteorological information, and communicate meteorological information to users.

The course is intended for holders of a BSc. degree in Maths, Chemistry and Physics
