About Special Needs Education Diploma program.

This Diploma in Special Needs Education course offered at Equip Africa Institute will equip learners with basic knowledge, skills and attitudes in teaching in special and inclusive education programmes, managing special and inclusive education programmes, and work effectively in programmes that support learners with special needs.

Assessment

The course will be assessed at two levels: internally and externally. Internal assessment is continuous and is conducted by the trainer who is monitored by an internal accredited verifier while external assessment is the responsibility of TVET CDACC, and KNEC.

Certification

On successful completion of all units of learning, a trainee will be awarded a Diploma in Special Needs Education issued by TVET CDACC in conjunction with Equip Africa Institute, and KNEC.

Entry requirements for Special Needs Education

An individual entering this Special Needs Education course at Equip Africa Institute should have any of the following minimum requirements:

  • P1 by training, ECCDE KNEC certification with KCSE D+ (Plus) and above or Holder of P1 teacher certification through promotion after passing TPC exams offered by Teacher Service Commission.
