Sports Administration and Management Program Offered at Kenyatta University

The Sports Administration and Management programme at Kenyatta University equips a student with the necessary skills to oversee the elements of sport that are essential to maintaining a strong athletic organization. Everything from facilities management to brand marketing to financial analysis can fall under the purview of sport management.

Applicants for the Diploma course shall have attained a minimum of C (plain) in K.C.S.E. or Division III at ‘O’ levels. OR They should hold P1/SI teachers’ certificate or Kenyatta University certificate course in sports administration and management.

The duration of the course shall be two academic years during which eighteen units of 35 contact hours shall be undertaken.

In order to qualify for the award of Kenyatta University Certificate in this programme, a candidate shall be expected to have passed all CATS and final written examinations with a minimum score of 40%

Candidates will also be expected to undergo practicum for a period of eight weeks.

The mode of teaching shall be through lectures, demonstrations and field visits.
