About Architecture programme

Architecture is the art and science of designing and erecting buildings, structures, objects and outdoor spaces.

This KNEC Diploma in Architecture equips students with fundamental knowledge and skills in architectural design practices and technical aspects such as conceptual design development, integrated building technology concepts like construction and services into their designed projects; application of building by-laws into designed buildings; appreciation of architectural history and cultural practices, production of design and technical drawing, model making and preparation of presentation media.

After successful completion of the course, trainees can work as architectural assistants in architectural and civil engineering firms. Graduates of this programme can also further studies in Architectural Technology at Bachelors level.

  • building methods and project management using the most current computer programs such as Revit (Building Information Modelling),

  • Adobe Illustrator,
  • Photoshop,

  • sketchUP 

Architectural Technicians use their construction and drawing knowledge to make building designs become a reality. They produce drawings and documents that enable pricing, consenting, and construction of domestic and commercial building projects. They also create architectural models and specifications and may be involved in administering construction contracts.

Objectives of Architecture

This Architecture diploma program will train you to use your logical and critical thinking skills as you apply architectural technology to construction and building design.

Students in this programme will learn to prepare fully detailed drawings and specifications for the construction of buildings, both manually and using CAD packages.
