Embu University College is a constituent college of the University of Nairobi.

The Embu University College (EUC) was established as a Constituent College of the University of Nairobi via a Legal Notice No. 65 of 17th June, 2011 by His Excellency the President.
EUC is the successor of the former Embu Agricultural Staff Training (EAST) College which started in 1947 as an agricultural training school and was later renamed Embu Institute of Agriculture in 1968. In 1990, it was upgraded to be Embu Agricultural Staff Training (EAST) College. The University College is located about 4km from the Embu Town Centre along the Embu-Meru Road.
EUC is mandated to play a leading role in the development and expansion of opportunities for higher education and training, research and support for innovative approaches for the development of humanity. In the discharge of this mandate, the University College upholds the following core values; Integrity, Professionalism, Teamwork, Innovativeness and Customer Focus.
The University College remains committed to its vision of becoming a dynamic epicenter of excellence in training and research for service to humanity. In an endeavour towards the realization of this vision, EUC has developed a strategic plan that outlines specific strategic directions by providing clear focus on defined priorities and the specific strategies to achieve them.
The University College offers quality market-oriented undergraduate and postgraduate courses which are relevant, value-added and affordable in a convenient, stimulating and challenging learning environment.
Currently, the University College has five schools;
with the establishment of more schools underway.
The University College has and continues expanding its collaborations and linkages with other national and international organizations in order to ensure that its graduates are abreast with the latest research findings, technologies and job market trends.
Further, the University continually reviews its curricula in order to ensure that they are in line with the global market needs.
The Embu Agricultural Staff Training (EAST) College was established in 1947 as an agriculture training school for pre-service training at certificate level to Kenya African
Preliminary Examination (KAPE) students.
Later in 1968, the Centre was renamed Embu Institute of Agriculture and started admitting secondary school leavers for two-year certificate training as Technical Assistants.
In 1990, it was up-graded to an Agricultural Staff Training College whose mandate was to develop and implement short management and technical courses, and offer research and consultancy services to enhance performance in the agricultural sector.
This continued until June 2011 when the College was converted to Embu University College through a Legal Notice No. 65 of 17th June, 2011.
The EUC council was inaugurated after its upgrading from Embu Agricultural Staff Training (EAST) College by President Mwai Kibaki.
The objective of the University College is to play a leading role in the development and expansion of the opportunities for higher education and research in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Veterinary Medicine, Forestry, Water and Biological and Physical sciences.
The College will develop into a centre of excellence for learning and research in agriculture and farming systems within and outside Kenya.
