About Bachelor of Arts programme

This Bachelor of Arts degree program offers a flexible approach to studying the humanities, social sciences, and languages. The degree program gives you opportunities to develop your abilities in problem-recognition and solving, research skills, analysis, synthesis and creativity, critical and reflective thinking, and written and non-verbal communication.

Your BA study can develop the knowledge and skills you need to future-proof your career. Capabilities such as communication and creative thinking will keep your options open for different opportunities in the fast-changing world of work. You can further extend your skillset for future careers through one or two of our optional, theme-based modules.

The degree provides broad preparation for future employment, as well as a sound basis for those wishing to pursue graduate diplomas and other postgraduate qualifications.

Studying Arts will develop your higher critical thinking skills and encourage exploration of how you view the world and yourself.

Objectives of Bachelor of Arts

This Bachelor of Arts degree program is designed to prepare you with critical thinking skills, communication skills, and a foundation in the humanities – such as literature, history, language, and religion.

Upon successful completion of the Bachelor of Arts course, graduates will be able to:

  • demonstrate a capacity for autonomous, life-long learning informed by Christian belief, critical thinking, ethical practice, and proficiency in research;
  • demonstrate an awareness of cultural diversities necessary for respectful engagement with local, national, international, and professional communities;
  • demonstrate the acquisition of a body of knowledge and skills specific to the creative and professional practice of a specific discipline;
  • demonstrate effective workplace and community collaboration and leadership;
  • demonstrate a philosophy of service in both professional and personal spheres;
  • demonstrate professional readiness and resilience in one or more Arts disciplines including awareness of best practice;
  • demonstrate proficiency in communication, problem-solving, creative endeavor, and information technologies.

Entry requirements for Bachelor of Arts

  • KCSE. with a C+ or equivalent
  • KCSE. with a C plain or equivalent Plus a Diploma (including IB Diploma) or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • KCE./EACE Div. III/ Ordinary GCE or equivalent Plus a Diploma (including IB Diploma) or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • KACE. or EAACE./Advanced GCE Certificate with one principal pass Plus a Diploma (including IB Diploma) or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • KACE. or EAACE. certificate with two principal passes or equivalent.
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma
  • A degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
